The Regional Class Research Vessel (RCRV) project is a groundbreaking new effort to build three state-of-the-art research vessels to define the future of oceangoing science, funded by the National Science Foundation. The communities in which these ships are named after are often overlooked and misunderstood. In this film, we explore and celebrate the history of the names of these new and upcoming vessels.
