FAST — the Frontiers of Advanced Semiconductor Technology — a partnership led by Oregon State University — was selected for the National Science Foundation Regional Innovation Engines program in July 2026.
With the NSF Engines award, FAST will help expand and strengthen the semiconductor industry that’s such a vibrant part of the Oregon economy. This transformational opportunity was built through years of hard work and collaboration with 95 partners in higher education, industry, government and nonprofits, and it’s expected to create 25,000 jobs, launch 180 new startups and add 4,000 graduates per year to meet workforce demands.
